How WyrdWeaver Works

What is WyrdWeaver?

WyrdWeaver is an AI-powered Game Master designed specifically for solo fantasy RPG adventures. Unlike traditional AI chatbots, WyrdWeaver:

Create a New Story

Click "New Story" and select your options.

Create Your Character

Use our character creator to build your hero with species, class, background, and abilities. Click create when you're ready!

Creating Your Character

Your character is the heart of your adventure. WyrdWeaver's character creation includes:

  • Species & Class - Choose from Human, Elf, Dwarf, and more. Each has unique abilities
  • Background - Your character's history gives bonus skills and equipment
  • Ability Scores - Roll or assign your STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, CHA
  • Equipment - Starting gear based on class and background
  • Spells (if applicable) - Wizards, Sorcerers, and other casters choose spells

Starting a Story

Stories are your campaigns. Each story has:

  • A world theme - Fantasy, Gothic Horror, etc.
  • A character - Your hero for this adventure
  • Persistent memory - NPCs, locations, and events are remembered

Community Worlds

Browse community-created worlds for instant adventures. These include detailed settings, hooks, and starting scenarios created by other players.

🎯 Pro Tip: Start with a specific hook. Instead of "I want to explore," try "I need to find the ancient artifact in the cursed temple before the cult does."

Playing the Game

WyrdWeaver handles the mechanics so you can focus on the story:

1. Describe Your Actions

Type naturally. Examples:

  • "I try to persuade the guard to let us pass"
  • "I search the room for hidden doors"
  • "I attack the goblin with my sword"
  • "I cast Fireball at the group of skeletons"

2. Automatic Dice Rolling

When you attempt something challenging, WyrdWeaver rolls dice automatically:

  • Skill checks (Persuasion, Perception, Stealth, etc.)
  • Attack rolls and damage
  • Saving throws

3. The AI Responds

Based on your roll, the AI narrates what happens. Success or failure, the story continues with consequences.

4. Make Choices

The AI presents options, but you can always choose something else. Be creative!

World Memory & Session Recaps

One of WyrdWeaver's most powerful features is long-term memory:

What Gets Remembered?

  • NPCs - Names, personalities, relationships with you
  • Locations - Places you've visited and what happened there
  • Events - Key story moments and your choices
  • Quests - Active objectives and completed tasks
  • Lore - World history and discovered secrets

Session Recaps

When you return to a story after a break, WyrdWeaver generates a "Previously on..." recap. This includes:

  • What happened in your last session
  • Key NPCs you met
  • Unresolved threads and current objectives
🧠 Pro Tip: Reference past events in your prompts. The AI will incorporate that history. Example: "I ask the innkeeper about the symbol I saw in the ancient temple last session."

Tips for Great Adventures

  1. Be Specific - "I examine the door for traps" is better than "I check the room"

  5. Take Notes - While the AI remembers, jotting down key names helps you too
